I joined the Royal Navy over 25 years ago as an Executive (Warfare) Officer and finished my commission as the Navigating Officer of HMS Cardiff. I then spent several years working on the Golden Odyssey fleet in the United States - the largest Super Yacht fleet in the world at that time.

Subsequently, I worked as Chief Mate on the F2000 Class Frigates being built for the Royal Malaysian and Royal Brunei Navies, as Ship Liaison Officer at Defence sales exhibitions, and as Deck Officer in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary on Tankers, Ammunition and Landing Ships, which included a humanitarian aid role in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

I became an Inspector of Lifeboats for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) working in the volunteer sector with many dedicated people in the most challenging of environments. The RNLI’s large portfolio of craft meant I had a steep learning curve but now means I can offer invaluable experience to our clients.

After leaving the RNLI, I worked in the Oil industry as the onshore Marine Technical Authority for a 104 000 GT Floating Production Storage Offload (FPSO) in the North Sea. I combined the role with that of Marine Cargo Operator for the FPSO, looking after the upkeep and operation of all marine processes on the installation. I took the lead in the life extension project for the FPSO, working closely with Lloyds Register of Shipping and Bureau veritas, using whole ship computer modelling, fatigue analysis and a remedial action programme to achieve this ground-breaking project.

More recently, I have been operating as a Client Representative in the Energy industry offering Marine Warranty surveys, Marine representation, and marine technical knowledge to a variety of clients.

Due to my wide management, seagoing and communication skills, I can offer an exceptional resource to clients in the defence, marine and offshore industries.
